Position Summary
SwitchON Foundation is seeking an experienced and grounded Regional Manager to lead and oversee Farmer Producer Organisation (FPO)–focused projects in the North-East region. Based in Shillong, this role involves extensive field engagement and close coordination with farmers, FPO leadership, government institutions, and funding agencies such as NABARD and NCDC.
The Regional Manager will be responsible for end-to-end implementation of
NABARD-supported FPO projects, ensuring timely delivery, quality execution, and long-term sustainability of farmer institutions. The role requires a farmer-friendly mindset, strong ownership, and the ability to guide teams while maintaining calm and effective stakeholder relationships.
This position is ideal for a hands-on professional with deep field experience in agriculture and rural livelihoods, who can balance strategy, compliance, and on-ground problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities
● Project Implementation & FPO Strengthening

Lead implementation of NABARD-supported FPO projects across the assigned region.

Support formation, strengthening, statutory compliance, and operational maturity of FPOs.

Guide Boards of Directors, CEOs, and FPO members on governance, business planning, and institutional development.
● Climate-Resilient Agriculture & Livelihoods

Promote and integrate Climate Resilient Agriculture (CRA) practices through FPOs.

Support adoption of sustainable agriculture, productivity enhancement, and farmer-centric livelihood models.
● Stakeholder & Partner Coordination

Coordinate with NABARD, NCDC, line government departments, and other ecosystem partners.

Represent SwitchON Foundation in regional meetings, reviews, and official engagements.
● Team Leadership & Monitoring

Lead and mentor regional and district-level project teams.

Review project progress, MIS data, and field-level outputs regularly.

Ensure timely submission of reports, documentation, and compliance requirements.
● Field Engagement & Problem Solving

Conduct regular field visits (60–70% travel) to monitor activities and support on-ground issue resolution.

Provide practical guidance to field teams and FPOs for operational and implementation challenges.
Qualifications
● Mandatory
-
Strong experience in FPOs, agriculture-based projects, or rural livelihoods implementation.

Proven ability to manage teams and large field-based projects.
● Education

Postgraduate degree in Rural Development / Agriculture / Social Work / Management.
● Language
-
English: strong communication skills (verbal and written) are essential.

Knowledge of local/regional languages will be an advantage.
● Other Requirements

Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MIS tools, and online reporting systems.

Comfortable using ChatGPT and other AI-based tools for reporting, analysis, and documentation support.

Farmer-friendly attitude with calm, responsible, and team-oriented behaviour.

Strong ownership mindset and ability to work independently in field-intensive environments.
Compensation
Monthly in-hand remuneration of approximately ₹55,000 – ₹70,000, depending on experience and role fit.
Reporting To
DGM - Agri Business
Travel Requirements
Extensive field travel required (approximately 60–70% of working days per month).
