The Associate Accountant will support the finance department in maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial reports, and assisting with budgeting and financial planning. The role requires a detail-oriented individual with a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Comply with the financial policies and regulations of the organization.
- Preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash-flow statements.
- Maintain accurate records of financial transactions and ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
- Assist with budget preparation and monitoring, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
- Handle accounts payable and receivable, including processing invoices, reconciling accounts, and managing vendor payments.
- Support payroll processing and ensure timely and accurate payment to employees.
- Prepare and file tax returns, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Assist with internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and support.
- Maintain financial records and filing systems, ensuring data accuracy and confidentiality.
- Communicate with stakeholders, including management, auditors, and vendors, regarding financial matters.
- Perform general administrative tasks, such as answering phones and handling correspondence.
Eligibility Criteria and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (preferred).
- 3 -5 years of experience in accounting or finance, with experience in handling NGO books of accounts will be preferred.
- Proficiency in accounting software like Tally and MS Excel.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Skills:
- Analytical skills, and attention to detail and accuracy.
- Knowledge of statutory laws about Income Tax and FCRA.
