About the project: The project aims to work with children under 6 years, pregnant and lactating women, and adolescent girls to address their unique nutritional needs. The project seeks to engage with tribal and PVTG’s in Malkangiri such as Bondas, Gadabas, Kondhs, and Koyas. Objectives of the project are:
• To build knowledge and awareness among community members on various themes of health and nutrition to improve practice and increase demand for services
• To build the capacities of the Anganwadi workers for better case management and improvement of nutritional outcomes of children under six
• To work with the AWWs and ASHAs for management of pregnancy and delivery resulting in improved birth weights and lowering of maternal and child morbidity and mortality
• To work with local governance systems to improve village-level planning and monitoring of health and nutrition services for children, women, and adolescents.
Job Description:
The training and capacity building coordinator will be responsible for conducting training & capacity-building sessions in the intervention blocks of Malkangiri. The person will also be responsible for providing handholding and supportive supervision to block and below team. In specific following are the roles and responsibilities:
• Develop annual training calendar
• Conduct training needs assessment
• Organise a pool of trainers
• Organize training programs for Project Staff and FLWs and PRIs
• To provide resource person support wherever required for training the PF/FLWs.
• To assess the quality of the training using specific assessment formats.
• To regularly monitor and assess the skills of the FLWs and project staff and provide regular hand holding support.
• To organize refresher trainings as per the needs
• Maintaining training database of all the training and assessments.
• Periodic reporting, develop reports and case studies
• Any other tasks assigned by the supervisor.
Report to: State Programme Coordinator
Qualifications, desired skills, and requirements:
• Master’s degree in Social Work/Social Studies.
• Minimum 4-5 years of experience working in an NGO focusing on Nutrition/Health/Sanitation related programmes at block/district level.
• Must have at least 3-5 years of experience in developing training materials and building capacities of frontline workers and project staffs.
• Must have experience in working in tribal-dominated districts/blocks.
• Should be proficient in MS Office
• Must have good communication skills, especially in local languages.
• The candidate must have good documentation skills and should be proficient in reading, writing, and speaking Hindi and English.
Duration :
Till September 2027. The contract will be issued initially for one year which will be extended based on the performance and need of the project.
