The National Institute of Rural Development & Panchayati Raj (NIRDPR), under the Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India, is hiring multiple roles (14 positions) on a contract basis to support implementation of the Annual Action Plan under Mahatma Gandhi NREGA. These roles are part of the Centre for Wage Employment and Livelihoods (CWEL) and focus on strengthening rural development systems, capacity building, infrastructure, social accountability, research, and financial management. Selected candidates will work on national-level programs, contributing to training of field functionaries, program convergence, rural infrastructure development, social audits, research, and financial administration. This is a high-impact government consulting and program implementation opportunity with strong exposure to MGNREGA, rural governance, and large-scale development systems.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Program Implementation & Capacity Building Design and deliver training programs for MGNREGA field functionaries across states and districts
- Support Training of Trainers (ToT) and capacity-building initiatives
- Strengthen integration of skilling with NRLM and other rural programs
- Rural Development & Infrastructure Support planning, monitoring, and evaluation of rural infrastructure projects
- Work on development of roads, public buildings, community assets, and livelihood infrastructure
- Ensure quality control, sustainable construction practices, and technical supervision
- Policy, Research & Convergence Conduct research, data analysis, and field studies under MGNREGA projects
- Support inter-scheme convergence and optimization of rural development programs
- Prepare research reports, policy notes, and case studies
- Social Audit & Governance Strengthen transparency, accountability, and participatory governance systems
- Conduct training on social audit processes and grievance redressal
- Support community mobilization and monitoring mechanisms
- Academic & Training Support Develop training strategies, dashboards, and monitoring systems
- Support execution of training programs and learning systems
- Coordinate with stakeholders for capacity-building initiatives
- Finance & Administration Manage accounting, budgeting, and financial reporting systems
- Handle TDS, TA/DA verification, and financial documentation
- Support office administration and liaison with finance departments
Required Qualifications, Skills and Experience
- Junior Fellows (All Domains) Postgraduate with 5+ years of experience in rural development/program roles
- Degree in Rural Development, Social Sciences, Agriculture, Engineering or related fields
- Experience in MGNREGA, capacity building, infrastructure, or social audit programs
- Research Associates Postgraduate with 3+ years of research experience
- Degree in Statistics, Economics, Social Sciences, Rural Development
- Experience in research design, data collection, analysis, and report writing
- Academic Associates Postgraduate with 3+ years of experience in training/program coordination
- Experience in capacity building, training systems, and government programs
- Finance Roles (Junior Accountant / Senior Accountant) Postgraduate in Finance/Commerce/MBA (Finance)/CA Inter
- 3–10 years of experience in accounting, administration, and government finance systems
- Knowledge of Tally, budgeting, and financial compliance
- Common Skills Across Roles Strong understanding of rural development and MGNREGA frameworks
- Experience in government program implementation and stakeholder coordination
- Strong analytical, reporting, and documentation skills
- Ability to work in multidisciplinary and field-based environments
- Fluency in Hindi and English preferred
