Job Description
- Work in close coordination with block health systems for strengthening planning, implementation and monitoring of project activities.
- Organize block level project launch and rollout workshop involving key block and sector level health functionaries
- Plan, coordinate and organize all block level capacity building activities including training of facility and community-based service providers, training of women SHG leaders and members of community-based platforms such as VHSNCs.
- Organize training of facility-based health care providers on SUMAN program, RMC, role of birth companion, non-pharmacological pain management techniques, Triaging of HRPs, essential newborn care.
- Facilitate and support Extended PMSMA (e-PMSMA) days at health facilities for improving screening, identification and care of HRPs
- Facilitate training of FLWs (ANM, CHO, ASHA, LHV, HW-Male) on BPCR, birth companions and Mother Influencers, line listing and tracking of HRPs, identification of warning signs in new-borns, essential new-born care (exclusive breast feeding, care during hypothermia, Kangroo mother care (KMC), cord care, delayed bath etc.)
- Support and guide community level health workers undertaking home visit counselling on BPCR, exclusive breast feeding, prevention of hypothermia and care of small and low birth weight (LBW), Kangaroo mother care (KMC), cord care, delayed bath.
- Operationalize and institutionalize “Birth Companions (BC)” at health facilities who will be actively supporting pregnant women throughout the antenatal period, labour, delivery and postpartum period including new-born care support.
- Monitor and support VHND session as a platform for improved quality of ANC/PNC services, identification of danger signs/HRPs, first line management of complication and access to referral services for emergency and advanced treatment.
- Facilitate Home Based New Born Care (HBNC) in coordination with community level health workers and ensure sick new born identification, tracking and referral
- Organize health awareness camps in difficult to reach pockets/project geography.
- Organize sensitization meeting at the community level involving women SHGs leaders, birth companions and Mother Influencers on Birth Preparedness and Complication Readiness (BPCR), postpartum care, home based new born care, immunization and infant feeding practices.
- Conduct capacity bridging training program and handholding support to traditional tribal healers on promoting maternal and new born care
- Prepare and submit quantitative and qualitative weekly and monthly reports and other project related documents.
- Maintain project related data base and undertake analysis of the project monitoring data.
- Conduct regular field visits to monitor and verify the program progress and impact, understand the challenges/gaps and suggest appropriate solutions.
- Perform other tasks as assigned by the District Coordinator, C3, Nuapada.
Qualification
- Master degree in Social Science, MSW, Public Health
Experience, Skills and Competencies
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience of managing public health programs including Reproductive, Maternal, Neonatal, Child Health programs at block level.
- Able to monitor progress of plan, support in prepare and submit good quality monthly, quarterly and annual progress reports, case studies/success stories.
- Ability to prioritize, organize, manage and adapt management style according to need.
- Knowledge and experience of MS Office applications and tools (word processing, spreadsheets)
Remuneration: Depending on qualification and experience
