Women’s Organization for Socio Cultural Awareness (WOSCA)
Women’s Organization for Socio-Cultural Awareness (WOSCA) is a voluntary organization established on 20th December 1993 in Keonjhar district of Odisha to serve the under privileged families with special focus on women and children. It has been registered under the Society Registration Act XXI of 1860 in the year 1993-94 and registered under FCRA in the year 2000. Since its inception it has been taking up need-based programs in areas where tribal concentration is more. Most of its programs are women focused. WOSCA is working on governance & livelihood, health & education, women & child rights, and preservation of environment. WOSCA at present covers 1,80,000 families through its 19 development projects in different parts of India. WOSCA is currently managing different health and nutrition projects such as Maternity Waiting Home (Maa Gruha), Nutrition Rehabilitation Center (NRC), Creches, Integrated Health & Nutrition Intervention project etc.
Job Description:
The Block Co-ordinator is responsible for overseeing the land development projects, implementation of FRA claims (CFR & IFR), co-ordination and community mobilization, facilitation of MGNRES, GIS mapping, capacity building at district and sub-district levels, liasioning with bock and district administration and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. Facilitate FRA claims, coordinate community mobilization,
Education Qualification and Technical Knowledge, Skill Required:
- A Master’s degree in Forestry, Anthropology, Rural Development, Development Studies, Sociology, Social Work, or a related field.
- Alternatively, a Bachelor’s degree in the above fields with at least two years of relevant experience.
- Should have proficiency in Microsoft office suits and Internet Browsing.
- Must have good communication skills in Odia i.e., to read, write and speak.
Remuneration:
Salary Rs. 20,000/- per month
Work Experience:
- Minimum of two years in areas such as Landscape planning, Natural Resource Management, tribal development, FRA, MGNREGS, governance, social inclusion, capacity-building on protective laws related to tribal rights
Skills and Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of tribal laws and policies (e.g., FRA, PESA, SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act).
- Experience in data management, and digital tools.
- Experience in designing and delivering training programs.
- Excellent communication, advocacy, and stakeholder management skills.
