Project Title:

Sustainable Community led Interventions for Tribal Health Resilience in two blocks of Koraput district, Odisha

 

This project aims to improve health resilience among tribal communities in Dasmantapur and Lamtaput blocks of Koraput district, Odisha, through sustainable, community-led interventions. By integrating local knowledge with public health systems, the project seeks to create a replicable model that addresses critical health challenges such as malnutrition, anaemia, maternal and child health, and infectious disease outbreaks.

Essential Qualification

:

  • Master’s degree in Computer Applications (MCA), Statistics, Public Health, Social Sciences, or Social Work (MSW).
  • A minimum of 2 years of work experience in MIS is mandatory.
  • Knowledge of the local language is essential.

Desirable Qualification

 

  • Proficiency in database management, Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with data collection tools such as ODK, KoboToolbox, etc.
  • Familiarity with statistical software (e.g., SPSS, R, STATA)
  • Prior experience managing MIS systems in large-scale surveys or community-based projects.
  • Experience in community health, nutrition, rural development, or related fields.

Job Description

:

The Block Coordinator – MIS will be responsible for managing and implementing all data and information system-related activities within the designated intervention block. The role requires coordination with field teams, and the district office to ensure smooth, timely, and high-quality data collection, analysis, and reporting in support of the project goals.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the State Programme Manager and District Project Coordinator in the implementation of project activities at the block level.
  • Oversee all project and data collection activities within the designated block.
  • Ensure proper collection, cleaning, storage, and secure transmission of data to the head office.
  • Regularly update the Management Information System (MIS) and manage the project database.
  • Train and support field-level staff in accurate and timely data collection using both paper-based and digital tools.
  • Compile and manage databases on a daily basis, ensuring consistency and reliability.
  • Coordinate with the MIS expert and District Project Coordinator at the district office for data management, analysis, and timely reporting.
  • Generate timely MIS reports and support documentation needs of the project.
  • Maintain all documentation related to data management and project reporting.
  • Perform any other task assigned by the Manager or Project Coordinator.

(The above position is purely on a temporary, contractual basis with a maximum duration of One year. The position is co-terminus with the project. The initial appointment will be for one year and will be extended based on the performance of the candidate.)

Remuneration

:

Consolidated amount of INR.35,000/-per month (TDS Deduction of 10% tax is applicable from the total amount of paid professional fees)

  • Those candidates, who are already employed in any organization, should bring a “No Objection Certificate” from the present employer
  • Those candidates already working in MSSRF should submit their applications through their reporting authority.
  • The candidates have to produce all the original certificates at the time of the interview for verification.
  • Upon selection, candidates are expected to join duty within 15 days.
