Role: Research Associate (Environment/Sustainability)

Location: IIM Mumbai & Angul 

About the project: The main goal of this project is to create and implement a unique district-level roadmap focused on a circular and inclusive green economy. This aims to close the circularity gap in key sectors within the Angul district, promoting sustainable development and optimal resource use. The project will develop a solid framework and detailed action plan for applying circular economy principles, including pilot projects and capacity-building activities through stakeholder consultations, outreach, and communication in Angul district.

Salary: Up to Rs 75,000 per month, depending on experience. 

Duration: 6 months, with the possibility of extension up to a year or more. 

Qualifications: 

Either a PhD in Sustainability, Environmental Science/Engineering, or Management, 

OR a Master's degree in these fields. Some experience in Circular Economy practices, Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), waste management, etc., will be advantageous.

Overall experience in metals, steel slag processing, aluminum waste, and waste-to-resource technologies, Life cycle analysis (LCA), EIA, ESG, environmental policy, regulatory frameworks, government engagement, and regulatory compliance, impact assessment, data analysis, results-based management. M&E framework design, data collection, and impact measurement.

Age limit: Preferably 40 years (Exceptions can be made).
