Job Description
Title of Position: Field Research Assistant
Number of Vacancies: 2
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Support field-based research on post-harvest loss (PHL) reduction
- Document case studies, and support data collection, documentation, and reporting
- Coordinate day-to-day field activities at the village level
- Facilitate community engagement, mobilization, and participation
- Assist in production coordination, including sourcing inputs and dissemination of technical knowledge
- Liaise and coordinate with technology vendors and implementation partners
- Participate in and support co-design processes and stakeholder workshops
- Track activity progress, identify bottlenecks, and flag challenges for timely resolution
- Ensure effective communication between communities, relevant departments, and project leadership
- Any other work related to the project as assigned by the project team
Eligibility Criteria:
- Postgraduate in Agriculture/Horticulture/Agri-business management, Rural Development, Social Sciences, or related fields
- Minimum 2 years of experience in agriculture, post-harvest loss (PHL) reduction/Agri-value chains, or rural field-based project implementation and research experience
Skills and Competencies:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work closely with communities and stakeholders
- Basic understanding of agriculture and rural livelihoods
- Good coordination and organizational skills
- Willingness to travel extensively in rural areas
- Ability to document field insights and maintain records
- Problem-solving attitude and adaptability in field conditions
Place of Posting/Location: Keonjhar district and Mayurbhanj district (Karanjia block) in Odisha
Proposed Salary Range: INR 32,000-37,000 per month CTC (based on experience and qualification, as per PRADAN pay structure)
Nature of Job: One-year fixed term contract, extendable based on performance and project continuity

Preference:
- Candidates fluent in Odia language and ready to work in remote village settings at Block level are encouraged to apply. Speaking Hindi is an additional benefit.
- The role requires frequent travel to villages. Preference will be given to candidates who can drive a two-wheeler and have a valid driving license.
